MEMORIES FROM OUR TRIP TO GERMANY

This week the students who went to Germany last March have been working ready in order to let ready this board with their memories from their amazing trip to Germany. They had a good time remembering all good moments they shared over there with the students from UK, Italy, The Netherlands, and Germany. Thanks again Germany for making this possible as they were amazed with the towns they visited , the organization , all the cooperative work on the Comenius project, the exhibitions, and how nicely they were welcomed by their host families.

Another group of students is now getting things ready to fly to The Netherlands next May. Happy Easter to everyone from Gran Canaria, Spain!

Day 2 opinions ...

Opinions of the trip to Münster:

Max Müller (Germany): It was really impressive, because of the many bikes. It was good that we had so much freedom to go around there. I don’ t like the long ways of the university, because they are really too long.

Carolina Torres Alemán (Spain): It was really interesting, because we saw the most important monuments in the city. Then we have a bit of time for fun and we enjoyed looking for some shops. It was a nice day that I had with my friends…

Kira Mulcahy (England): It was fun looking around the very historic city and seeing all the monuments and buildings. I also liked that after the tour we were able to go shopping and look around ourselves and we could buy souvenirs for our families. Also I made lots of new friends so it was a very good day!!!!!!  :)

Sofia Netti (Italia) : I was impressed by the beauty of the cathedral of Münster. It´s a very nice city, full of many monuments and building. I enjoyed going around all together in the city. The journey was a bit too long but we could speak and have fun a lot. It´s a very good day J

Imke van Dijk (the Netherlands): The stories of the historical buildings were not very interesting but the buildings were beautiful and just a little bit interesting. I liked it to go shopping in the city centre with my new friends !! And the train was funny because I´ve talked a lot with the people from different countries. It was a nice day!!

Today we went to the city of Münster. At 9.07 we took the train to Bielefeld. There, we had to take a train at 9.58 but we took a train to Düsseldorf. As someone saw that this train didn’t go to Münster all students and teachers were very scared. We arrived in Bochum and then we changed the train back to Hamm. In Hamm we took the right train to Münster and we reached Münster at 12.30. When  we arrived we were divided in 3 groups to do a tour around the city. There were a lot of bikes, and the guide told us that most of the people had 2 bikes. We visited some churches and the cathedral of Münster which was very beautiful. After the tour, we were divided again in groups of 4 or more people. We had 2 hours to go shopping, eat something and buy souvenirs. It was very fun and interesting. 

First we made a sightseeing-tour with a tour guide trough Münster. The tour guide showed us historic Münster. We saw very huge, old buildings, but we had to be very careful, because if you only are looking on these amazing houses you will get into an accident with a bike. In Münster there are many bikes and you have to be very careful. After the sightseeing-tour we had time to go shopping or to eat something. We were searching for a Kebab Shop and in a little street we found one. Some ate a kebab and some ate a pizza. It was really delicious and everyone was well-fed...

The Spanish wanted to buy gifts and souvenirs, and so we went to a gift and souvenir shop. Not only the Spanish bought something there, also the German bought something for their friends and their families. We had to find our way back to the train station, but we are really smart and so we found the way back :)

The journey back to Lemgo was not so exciting, because we took the right trains and reached our destination.

In the evening most students were very tired and went home to sleep, but some even did something like watching a film or looking around their new home…

Day 1 opinions ....

Opinions of the treasure hunt:

Mrs Anelli (Italy): It was a good start, because it offers the opportunity to meet other students in a nice way. They start collaborating before the real work

Felix Türke (Germany): It was a nice trip but it was a bit difficult to talk with the others because we did not know the others. In my opinion the way we had to go was a little too long.

Elena Santacreu (Spain): In my opinion I think that the treasure hunt was very good because we saw the most important things of Lemgo. It was very funny.

Rebecca Galbraith (Great-Britain): Monday was fun because we got to travel around the town and see what there was in Lemgo. I think I would have liked to go to the swimming pool if I had the chance.

Mr Pérez (Spain): I think that the treasure hunt was a beautiful experience, because all the students were working together and at the same time we learn something about the beautiful town of Lemgo.

It was the arrival day, but just the Italians and the Spanish had arrived, they arrived on Sunday. We met the Netherlands and the English at 1 o’clock after the lessons in the forum. We had lunch together and so we also made new friends from different countries. Then, we were divided in 6 groups to do a treasure hunt. It took 2 hours and we were walking to different sights in Lemgo like the ‘Junkerhaus’ or the St. Nicolai church. With this game all the students learned something about Lemgo: The Germans learned more things about their town and the exchange partners learned how the life in Lemgo and the culture of the town is. Teachers and teenagers were very excited about the new experience and all were interested in that.

At 4 o’clock we finished the game and went to the forum again. There, the parents were waiting for us to go home. Then at home some students watched films, others went cycling or finding out what their exchange partners hobbies were. And at last the host families ate something with their guests and then the guests (they were very tired because of the long journey to Germany) went to bed…

Thursday 20th March 2014

This was a day to reflect on the Comenius project and to prepare presentations. Everyone was in groups working on different aspects of it. The two of us were adding many diary entries and photos to this blog about the week in Germany. We had many techincal dificulties as we had to understand the computer commands in German! Others were finalising example t-shirts or creating newspaper articles. We did lots of work on the UN Convention rights of the child. It was a long day but very rewarding.

Over lunch, we went out into the city of Lemgo and we had delicious ice cream and we also went shopping with our lovely new friends!
